Migraine can become very disturbing in our day to day life and it’s a common issue that we face very frequently. They can be immediately treated with medications but overuse of such symptomatic medications can actually cause more frequent headaches or worsen its symptoms. The most important aspect of treating headaches is to understand what caused it in the first place. In that case, we need to look into some lifestyle and behavioral measures that can prove to be effective during the migraine.

  1. Stress
  2. Lack of Sleep
  3. Tiredness
  4. Emotional imbalance
  5. Neck or Shoulder sprain
  6. Poor Posture
  7. Can be Low Blood Sugar as well
  8. Possibly dehydration too and
  9. Irregular eating schedule

Home Remedies to cure Migraine naturally

Get Enough Sleep 

A bad sleep cycle can be a trigger for severe migraine attacks. Missing sleep or even excessive sleep can be harmful for our brain. It is advised to rest for about 7-8 hours every day for the normal functioning of our body. Our sleep should never be distracted by either excessive work pressure or late-night television shows.

Hot/Cold Compress

Applying hot and cold compress works like magic when it comes to severe pain in any part of the body. A hot compress relieves the tense muscles by its relaxing effect and a cold compress might lower the painful sensation. 

Have a scheduled eating routine

We should always set a fixed time for our meals and try not to skip one Always make sure that you remember what you eat as migraines can be caused due to some food that may be allergic to you. 

It is advised to take caffeine in small amounts as it brings relief to migraine pain but too much of it can lead to frequent headaches later. 

Sesame Oil

Sesame oil contains chamomile extract which acts as a topical medication for migraine pain relief. It possesses anti-inflammatory effects which reduces inflammation in the neurovascular unit at the site of migraine pain, thereby relieving it of the gases that cause the pain. It is advised to put 3-4 drops once a day until the attack lasts.

Ginger Tea

Ginger is a safe home remedy for treating nausea, which is a symptom of migraines. It doesn’t have any side effects as compared to the pharmaceutical options available. It is always advised to take ginger on the onset of every migraine attack. We can take two cups of ginger tea every day for fast recovery.

Yoga  

Since ages, Yoga has been an essential part of the human well-being regime as it helps to calm the mind and relax the blood vessels. Headaches are usually cured by deriving ways to supply oxygen to the brain. Hence, we follow the following backward bending postures to promote inhalation:

BHUJANGASANA (The Cobra Pose)
