Water retention, also termed as edema, characterized by accumulation of fluid in the body’s tissues, which happens as a result when the lymph system is not able to remove excess fluids from the body and that fluid get confined and leads to swelling in the hands, legs, ankles, and feet. 1. Garlic

Method: Raw Garlic

  • Have 2-3 raw garlic cloves in the morning and at night.

Coriander seeds also contain some other components like Vitamins-A, C, and K, thiamin, riboflavin, folic acid, calcium, iron, magnesium and small quantities of niacin, vitamin-b6, phosphorous and zinc. According to Ayurveda coriander is very effective in elimination of water retention.
It can be consumed by boiling 3 tbsp. of Coriander seeds in 1 glass of Water, till it remains half of its original quantity. Then drain it and let it cool down before drinking. Drink this coriander seeds water twice a day.

4. Dandelion Tea

Dandelion having property of diuretic, which act on kidneys to flush out toxins and excess salt and fluids from the body. It is also plenty in calcium, potassium, iron, magnesium, and manganese which benefits in reducing the fluid retention.
It can be consumed as: – Take boiled water in a cup and add single teaspoon of fresh or dried dandelion leaves. Then place a lid over it and keep as it for 5-10 minutes and finally drain and drink.
Take 2-3 times daily to get rid of water retention.

5. Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple Cider Vinegar absolutely good for edema. It consists of good amount of potassium and is anti-inflammatory in action, these properties benefit to diminish fluid retention without bringing any harmful effects.

Take 1-2 tablespoons in a glass of warm filtered water, 3 times daily (just before food) is best. It is helpful in lessening edema. It can be consumed as well as applied over the affected part of the body. While applying, do massage for at least 5 minutes, so that it enters your skin.
