Home remedies to remove itching and stretch marks in pregnancy

Pregnancy is the most beautiful phase in every women’s life. Everyone has to change many physiological changes in this phase. As the size of the belly grows, constant itching starts in the belly and other parts of the body. It can be cured with some natural home remedies.

This is the most annoying feeling due to hormonal changes. The levels of estrogen lead to excessive itchiness during this pregnancy period. Most of the time this phase starts in the third trimester. Dry skin can also cause extreme skin irritation. So this is advisable to apply moisturizer.

There are some home remedies that can help you to get relief from this irritating itching.

ALOE VERA GEL

aloe vera gel is highly effective for its anti-inflammatory and hydrating properties. Apply raw aloe vera gel in your itchy area. Keep it for about 15-20 minutes. Then wash it off. It will soothe your skin and reduce itching. 

COCONUT OIL:

Massage coconut oil in the affected area and wash it after 30 minutes. It will moisturize your skin. Coconut oil has fatty acids that help to soothe your skin. Apply coconut oil two to three times a day after bath to get quick relief.

BAKING SODA:

Baking soda can help a lot to get relief from the itchy and irritating condition. Take one teaspoon of baking soda and mix it with water to make it a thick paste and then apply to the affected area. Leave it for 15 to 20 minutes then wash it off. It will help you to restore the skin’s pH level.

OATMEAL:

It is recommended that oatmeal can help you to get relief from itchy irritation. Take two to three spoons of oatmeal into a bowl. Mix it well with water. Continue to mix it well to get a smooth paste. Apply this paste to the affected area and wrap the affected area with a wet cloth.

COLD COMPRESS USE:

You can use cold compress several times for relief. You will just need a single ice pack and place it in an affected area for few minutes. You will feel quick relief and it will suddenly reduce the inflammation and soothe the area.

USE GRAM FLOUR:

 Take some gram flour and coconut oil. Mix it with water to make a thick paste or else you can add curd to get cooling effect and extra moisture. Let it dry and wash it off.

CALAMINE LOTION:

Apply calamine lotion to the affected area regularly two to three times per day. It will reduce itchiness and stop irritation.

LEMON JUICE:

Lemon juice contains anti-microbial elements that help to remove microbe that causes itching. Just take a little amount of juice and dilute it with water. Take a cotton ball. Dip it into it and apply it to the affected area. If you feel the irritation or burning sensation then immediately pat the skin with a wet cloth and apply moisturizer.

Moreover, don’t get over panic if you get itchy skin during pregnancy. Most of the cases it is normal and harmless. The expanded belly stretches the skin, which causes irritation. You can also consult your doctor to get help. The above mentioned remedies are for general information.
