What are Beauty Remedies? These are something which helps us to stay beautified and looking well. However, the prime source of every remedy is “Nature”. With the advancement of human technologies and brains; certain new processes and techniques has been discovered. Here, we will be talking about ‘Herbal Beauty remedies’ based on different skin types and body constituency.

To write something bout beauty treatment is quite common, but to discuss it with instance to Dhoshas; Vata, Pitta and Kapha is not so common. In fact, it becomes easier for the users to opt them. It also makes us satisfied with using it as it is totally proven. Firstly, we will be discussing about these doshas then shall be moving to other topics.

Tridoshas: Vata, Pitta and Kapha:-

Being three, they are prefixed as ‘tri’ meaning ‘three’. The three doshas are considered to be the pillars or mainstay of the body, responsible for its creation, preservation and destruction. After birth, nourishment of the body, maintenance of good health, prevention and cure of various ailments rests upon these tridosa.

However, when the dosas are out of balance, all the parts and functions also get imbalanced. It results in poor health and ultimately disease. These doshas change their natural state due to an increase, decrease or dominance .

Beauty Aids and Tridosa:-

Our skin, its beauty is deeply correlated to these tridosas. Every skin has some definite characteristics based on these tridosas. Ayurveda, the Indian System of Medicine categorised our constitution otherwise called ‘Prakriti‘ mainly under Vata, Pitta and Kapha.

Many times, you will notice by using very expensive skin cream or product; it reacts and results in some scars or marks. That time we start blaming the company and its product. As a fact, fault was not in the cream or in your skin. The thing you were lacking was configuration of your skin constituency and its type.

When the skin texture varies, then skin care too varies from person to person depending on his/her constitution. Ayurveda offers excellent regenerative therapy for the skin including different processes. Some of them are listed below-

1. Massage– It is the process which loosens toxins and tones the muscles. It is very good for wrinkled and dab skin. It is done using oils like sesame oil, jasmine oil, rose oil, carrot seed oil, coconut oil, sunflower oil, neem oil, almond oil, Olive oil etc. Massage is very good to refresh your skin.

2. Ubtan– It is a traditional pack which is mainly seen in Hindu culture. It is a mixture made of herbals, oat flour, powdered almonds. Holy basil powder, rose petals, sandalwood, coriander seeds, lily petals.

3. Face Scrub– It is the process of rubbing the skin with some granular solution; helpful to remove blackheads and white-heads. Mostly, walnut scrub, apricot scrub, custard apple pulp, orange pulp, brown sugar etc are used.

4. Face Mask– A mask of some natural thing like clay, sandal, turmeric, orange gel etc are used. It cleanses and tone-up your skin.

One must learn to listen the language of their skin. Many times our skin needs something and we give it anything else. This thing causes deformities and skin hazards. Before going to any skin treatment or using any kind of new cosmetic; first conclude your skin type and its constituency. There should not be burning, itching, irritation, redness or peeling of skin after use of any cosmetic, soap or powder.

Natural Skin packs for glowing skin:-

Skin packs or Face packs are very healthy for skin. These can be applied twice a week. One should use it as per their skin constituency.

  • For Normal skin-

Blend equal quantities of sandalwood powder, rose petal powder and oat flour. Mix all these with milk and apply on overall face and little on neck portion. Dab on and stay in an idol pose for 15-20 minutes. Rinse with cool-normal water.

  • For Dry skin-

Mix equal amounts of green gram powder, wheat gram powder, fenugreek, tulsi powder, rose petals powder. Mix with thick milk cream and apply.

  • For Oily skin-

Mix equal quantities of rice powder, neem powder, sandalwood powder. Mix with water and apply on face. Those with oily skin can also apply fruit pulp of sugar cane with milk etc.

Now, let’s see some of the face masks, which you can easily prepare at home and in a very affordable price. These are 100% natural and herbal.

  • Egg White Mask-

Egg white is rich in proteins which means a good thing for skin. You can use hen egg; brown or white one. Beat the white of an egg and spread out as thin-film on your face. Rinse off after 15-20 minutes. It lightens your skin erasing all the scars and wrinkles.

  • Almond mask-

Almonds are the edibles which comes under the category of dry fruits. It is also a good and natural beauty product. Mix 2 tablespoon of ground almonds, ½ tablespoon of honey and 1 tablespoon of rose-water. Apply on face and leave for 20 minutes. It makes your skin smooth, soft and glowing.

Turmeric is a spice which lightens and brightens the skin. It is anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and anti-microbial in nature. Take a tablespoon of turmeric powder and mix with curd. Apply this on face and rinse after 15 minutes. It will temporarily make your face yellowish; but will brighten your skin.

Now, we will be telling you certain natural products which might be a spice, a vegetable, fruit or anything like that. All these are the beauty cosmetics.

15 Natural Beauty products:-

  1. Honey– Apply little honey all around your face and wipe with soft cotton and rosewater after 15 minutes. It makes your skin elastic and improves the texture.

  2. Cumin– It is a spice which is also called ‘jeera‘ in Hindi. To improve the complexion, wash your face with cumin-boiled water.

  3. Lemon– Apply a mixture of lemon juice and rosewater to the skin. It cleanses all the scars, pimples, marks, wrinkles etc.

  4. Vinegar– It is a kitchen ingredient which is ideal for Chinese dishes. Add a cup of vinegar to your bathing water. It will help refresh the dry skin.

  5. Milk– Dab milk onto your face with some cotton wool. Wash after 15-20 minutes. It brightens your complexion and also makes the skin smooth.

  6. Yoghurt– It is a great coolant. During summers, it is a great thing. After coming from sun; apply yoghurt on your face, arms and legs. Wash after 20 minutes.

  7. Camphor oil– Camphor also called ‘Kapoor‘ is the ingredient which mas multi-purpose and filled with medicinal values. It acts as an antiseptic for skin and removes ageing marks, wrinkles and other spots.

  8. Multani mitti– Also called Fuller’s clay; is a great thing for kin. It absorbs extra oil and makes your skin smoother and soft. It sucks out dirt from pores. Being rich in mineral content, it is a good cleansing agent for skin.

  9. Orange peel– After eating oranges, do not throw the peel. Dry it under the sun and grind in mixture grinder. Now, use this coarse powder as a scrub, face mask or body scrub.

  10. Nutmeg– It is a medicinal spice which is also called ‘Jayphal’ which clears out white patches and blemishes on the skin. Apply the paste of nutmeg on the skin once a week for better result.

  11. Green tea– As we know, green tea detoxifies your internal organs and soothes your body. It is also a cosmetic ingredient. Take 2 tea bags and dip in water. Now put it over the closed eyes and feel its coolness. It makes your eyes relaxed and also erases dark circles.

  12. Strawberry– Make a thin paste of strawberry and add few drops of honey to it. Mix well and apply its thin coat on skin. It lightens your skin and gives you a pinkish glow.

  13. Onion Apply the juice of onion mixed with lemon juice. It erases the wrinkles, blemishes cures all the signs of ageing.

  14. Tomato– Apply the pulp of tomato to your face. It cleanses the blackheads and opens the pores. It also makes your cheek blushing with a pink tint.

  15. Alum– Also called fitkiri; it is skin-friendly and treats most of the skin disorders. It may be gentle rubbed on skin to remove blackheads and other impurities. It also acts as a mild antiseptic, thus can also be used as after shave lotion.
