The sun’s ultraviolet rays increase the melanin in the body, which results in sun-tanned skin. Although we all love mild pleasant sun exposure, no one likes harsh scorching sun. Exposure to hot and humid sun not only tans your skin but also makes your face too many skin-related issues like dark spots, hyperpigmentation, reddishness, itchy skin, etc. We all get afraid of stepping out in summer. Although eventually, sun damage will disappear yet we all get worried about our tanned skin.

As the summer season begins, the heat is more overbearing than in the other seasons. prolonged exposure to the sun’s Ultraviolet rays results in sunburn. Ultraviolet A rays penetrate the lower surface of the skin which affects melanin production. If you are exposed to direct sunlight every day, you need daily precautions with daily safeguards.

Here are some home remedies to get rid of sun tan:

8. Turmeric and gram flour

Take two tablespoons of gram flour with half a teaspoon of wild turmeric and milk. Mix it well. Apply this pack to your face and leave it for 20 minutes. Wash your face with cold water. Then apply your favorite moisturizer. Turmeric has healing properties and gram flour has exfoliating properties. Both help skin to soothe and glow.

7. Papaya and honey

Papaya contains pepsin, which is amazing bleaching properties and honey helps in moisturizing skin. To make this pack just mash some amount of ripe papaya and mix one teaspoon of honey in it. Apply on your face and keep it for 15 minutes. Then wash it off. Apply some moisturizer. Do this remedy twice a week.

6. Lemon and potato juice

Lemon contains vitamin c and citric acid. And potato has exfoliated properties to remove tan and pigmentation. Both potato and lemon juice helps to treat pigmentation and sunburn. They both lighten skin tone and prevent dark circles. Take one tablespoon of potato juice and half a teaspoon of lemon juice. Apply on the face. Keep it on your face till it dries up. Wash your face with cold water. Apply moisturizer to maintain moisture.

5. Sandalwood powder and coconut water

Both these ingredients work wonders on the skin. Take one tablespoon of sandalwood powder, and add some coconut water. Make a semi-liquid paste. Apply on your face and wash with cold water after 10 minutes. 

Lemon has a bleaching effect. It contains vitamin c which helps to brighten up your skin. To do this method take one tablespoon of fresh lemon juice and a half tablespoon of honey. Apply it on your face and let it dry. wash your face with normal water. Apply moisturizer.

3. Multani mitti and rose water

Multani mitten tightens your skin and makes your skin smooth. It helps to protect from sunburn. Take some Multani mitti and mix it with some rose water. Make a smooth paste. Apply on your face. Leave it for 10 minutes. Let it dry and then wash it up with normal water. Apply moisturizer to your face. Do this method twice a week.

2. Saffron and milk

Saffron is well known to every individual. It is widely used in cooking and skincare products. It improves skin textures and treats pigmentations, acne, pimple, etc. And gives you glowing skin. For the remedy, take some saffron strands and soak them in milk. After 5 minutes crush saffron with your fingers and mix with milk. Wash your face and apply the mixture. Let it dry and wash it with cold water. Do this remedy thrice a week.

Yogurt acts as an exfoliator and honey works as an antioxidant to protect skin from sun damage. It helps in reducing redness in your skin. And gives you glowing and soothing skin. Take one tablespoon of each ingredient. Mix them well and apply them to your face. Keep it for 10 minutes and wash it off with cold water. Apply moisturizer to maintain moisture.
