Cilantro is a green coloured herb which comes under the category of herbs. Being rich in antioxidants, Vitamins, Minerals and many more; its is a very useful herb cum vegetable. Cilantro is used in multiple ways; as a garnish item in curries etc, chutney, dips, snack items and many more. The powerful flavor and aroma of Cilantro makes an excellent seasoning in different salads and dishes too. Apart from this there are numerous benefits of cilantro in different disorders too. In market, this small herb costs really high; so why not grow it naturally in your garden only and eat fresh.

You can easily grow it with its seeds; it takes about 5-7 days for germination. While growing it looks same as the normal grass. It needs full sun and preferably shade for proper growth. It also needs well-drained soil and twice watering in ample amount only.

2. Parsley

Parsley is a natural and anti-bacterial remedy.  Parsley is good as a booster for your immune system and neutralize bad breath.  Parsley is also a powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory which makes it great for digestion and detoxification. Parsley is a Biennial plant and can be easily grown using seeds. It needs partly shade and full sun rays. You can easily use parsley in salad dressing, as an ingredient in curry items etc. It takes 15-30 days for germination; the height varies as per the variety itself.

3. Aloe Vera

Also called ‘plant from heavens’; aloe vera is a very god herb which is multipurpose,. It is used as a food ingredient, to prepare dessert item, as a beauty cosmetic and for different purposes. As like other plants, it does not bear any kind of leaves or buds; it grows in  the form of stem and can be of different shapes; like elongates, round, small and so on. It produces transparent jelly and yellow sticky fluid. Both of them are usable and used in different ways. It can be easily grown in pots or in garden field. You can use it as gelatin, beauty treatment, hair moisturiser , beauty packs, juice, edible gel and many more.

4. Mint

Mint also called ‘pudina’ is a fragrant, green coloured and an aromatic herb which is use in multiple ways. It is also called Peppermint and is an excellent repellent for ants, insects, flying insects, rodents and many more. It is used to prepare chutney, shikanji, can be eaten raw and many more. Peppermint makes a healthy addition to beverages and desserts.  Add a sprig of peppermint leaves to berries and other fruits, coffee, or hot cocoa.  It is found in different varieties in different shapes too. It takes 10-15 days for germination with damp and mulched soil texture. It need partly and well sun rays.

Basil is also called ‘Tulsi‘ is a sacred herb in Indian culture. Tulsi is found in different varieties namely; Krishna Tulsi, Kashi Tulsi and Lakshmi Tulsi. Each of them has their own texture, shape and fragrance too. When eaten, Basil provides us healthy doses of vitamins A, K, and C, as well as magnesium, iron, potassium, and calcium. It is also used to prepare a variety of dishes and preparations. It is an excellent repellent for ants, mosquitoes, cockroaches and many more. Dried or fresh, basil is great for cooking or for creating an invigorating atmosphere anywhere in your home. It takes 5-10 days for germination  and needs rich, moist and well-drained soil for better growth.

Spinach comes under the category of ‘leafy green vegetables’ and is the rich source of Iron, Calcium, Phosphorus, Vitamins, fibres, essential amino acids, folic acid and many other nutritive elements. It bears broad green leaves and ranks high among all green vegetables. It is one of the cheapest vegetable which supplies the same amount of protein as one gets from the same quantity of meat, chicken, fish, eggs etc. It is a cool vegetable and annual crop which matures quickly. Betel leaves also called ‘Pan patta’ is a very important thing which aids in numerous health benefits. It is a creeper grown in tropics; it belongs to pepper family. Its waxy green, heart-shaped leaves are used for medicinal and culinary purposes. When crushed, it exudes cool peppery scent. It’s used in making famous dessert called ‘Paan’ which is chewed with betel nut as a mouth freshener. It is easy to propagate from cuttings at hot times of the year. Take cuttings 25 cm long, strip the leaves off the bottom half of the stems and bury to half their length in potting mix and keep moist.

Fenugreek is also known as one of the most important medicinal plant. It is known as “Methi” in Hindi terms. It is highly beneficial for health. The plant Fenugreek and leaves are strongly aromatic and flavourful. Seeds are bitter in taste but lose their bitterness if roasted slightly. They are rich in Vitamins such as thiamine  folic acid, riboflavin, niacin, vitamins A, B6, and C, and are a storehouse of certain minerals such as copper, potassium, calcium, iron, selenium, zinc, manganese, and magnesium. Fenugreek leaves are a rich source of vitamin K as well. These are quite small herbs and can be easily grown in pots and gardens. Fenugreek leaves are used to cook a number of dishes and curries.
