Endometriosis is a condition when there is abnormal growth of tissues outside the uterus. Such tissues generally lines the inside of the uterus. The condition involves ovaries, bowel and the tissues that lines the uterus. Most of the times, symptoms go unnoticed while some women notice severe pelvic pain (pain gets worse during menstruation), painful intercourse, painful bowel movements or urination and infertility.
Ayurvedic Treatment of Endometriosis
According to Ayurveda, endometriosis primarily occurs due to aggravation of Kapha dosha. Imbalanced Kapha dosha leads tobuild up of cells and their abnormal growth outside the uterus. The disorder can be regarded as a result of the aggravation of pitta dosha as well because of the problems associated with blood, menstruation and hormones. At the same time, vatadosha is also involved and the symptoms including pain in the affected area is the main indication of the same. The disturbed vatadoshais also responsible forthe displacement of tissues from their original position to the outside of the uterus.
Accumulation of ama (toxins) in the body is also responsible for the same. Hence,it is necessary to stop the creation and accumulation of ama. According to ayurveda, this can be achieved by regulating the agni (Digestive fire). This digestive fire in turn can be controlled by eating healthy diet. Healthy diet involves the food that are easy to digest and provides proper nourishment to the body as well as easy to get eliminated.
Overall, we can say endometriosis is Sannipatika condition that occurs due to aggravation of all the three doshas. So,Ayurvedic treatment for endometriosis involves the balancing of all the three doshaswith the help of Ayurvedic medicines. Ayurveda not only concentrates to treat endometriosis, but also on how to create a state of health and wellbeing as well. It helps to bring the body back to its normal functioning.
Ayurvedic medicines involves the use of herbs in their formulation. As these herbs are natural, the treatment is safe and free from side effects. The need of surgery can even be avoided with this treatment.
